Coin Handling Moves And Magic

Easy coin handling moves that when mastered will allow you to perform lots of amazing magic coin vanish tricks

French Drop

Coin to be used in the vanishing trick is held beween the thumb and index finger.

1. Hold the coin to be used in the magic trick, between your thumb and index finger.

Other hand is brought down as if to pick up the coin.

2. The other hand is brought down from above as if it is going to pick up the coin.

Coin is discretely dropped into lower hand. The spectator thinks that the coin has been grabbed by the upper hand.

3. As the hand is being closed, drop the coin onto your lower hand. Keep the top hand closed and remove the other hand ( which really has the coin). The spectators will think that you actually took the coin in your upper hand.

Classic Palm Vanish

Coin is kept in position by the palm position.

1. At the start of this trick, the coin should be in the centre of your palm up hand. The coin should be in the palm position ( see photo, fleshy part at base of thumb should keep coin in place in the palm of the hand, pushing it towards the centre of the palm).

While retaining the coin in palm position, pretend to throw the coin into the other hand

2. You can now pretend to throw the coin into the other hand, but actually retain it in the palm ( this is called palming ) .

Close the hand that the spectator believes that the coin is being held in. At the same time get rid of the coin which is really in the other hand. Use misdirection to distrat the spectators attention.

3. Close the hand that the spectator thinks that the coin is in and get rid of the coin which is actually in the other hand ( use misdirection ).
